As students of the University of Houston, a Tier One Research University, our goal is to strive for excellence and be the best that we can be. This university equips us with everything needed to accomplish the goals we intend to pursue, whether it be to conquer the business world or simply to make lifelong friends. The Finance Association takes advantage of what the University of Houston has to offer and provides its members with opportunities to develop professionally with not only professional skills but social skills, technical skills, and by giving back to our community with community service events.

Professional

Every semester The Finance Association hosts many different workshops for members to attend and improve their professional self by giving them face time with corporate professionals, by mentoring them through our Big & Little Mentorship Program, and by providing workshops to improve resume's and introductions.

The Finance Association wants you to learn simple, yet useful real-time business concepts and strategies through or R&T and Excel workshops and go through experiences when participating in our optional competitions that otherwise are not experienced when participating solely in the classroom.

How do our community service events help you?

Some of the biggest benefits we see in participating in community service are the feelings of accomplishment, pride, and satisfaction of coming together to help out and make a difference as an organization for the Houston community. The great city of Houston, The Energy Capital of the World, provides us with an abundance of resources to take advantage of and is the reason our members always come out on top. There is no better feeling than giving back to the city that gives so much to us! Through our events you will gain invaluable knowledge about yourself, professional experience, how non-profit businesses function, and the resources offered to solve community needs.

Social

Although about every event we host has something to do with social development, we have specific events solely for social development whether it be professionally or for entertainment. Either or, it will still help you grow as a person and as a professional in the business world. Meeting someone new can teach us a lot of new things, now imagine meeting tons of new people. That's a lot of learning to do, and you never know if push comes to shove they might just be your new coworker! Which is why FA is here in the first place, we're here to land you a new job and provide you with a nothing but amazing experience!
